The sustained growth of the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region since 2000 has attracted the attention of global investors, policy makers, academics and other observers of the region. In order to ensure that this economic performance continues and is shared throughout the MENA countries, governments in the region decided to launch a peer dialogue focused on investment policy reform in co-operation with OECD members. As a result, the MENA-OECD Investment Programme was created. This publication highlights key outcomes of the work of the MENA-OECD Investment Programme from 2005-2007, including reforms achieved to date in investment policies and promotion, corporate governance, financial-sector development, and tax policies.
