This publication addresses the challenges linked to the introduction of financial education in schools, provides practical guidance and case studies to assist policy makers, as well as a comparative analysis of existing learning frameworks for financial education in the formal school system.
The publication is divided into three chapters. The first chapter presents the OECD Council Recommendations on guidelines for financial education in schools. The second chapter addresses main issues and presents selected case studies that show how countries faced with similar challenges managed to introduce financial education in the school system. The final chapter presents a comparative analysis of existing learning frameworks.
The publication also also includes one annex with additional information on certain learning frameworks and another annex explaining the setting, structure, mandate and output of the OECD International Network on FInancial Education.
